USA Technologies Stories: Greg McCall of Five Star Food Service

We had the opportunity to spend some time with Greg McCall, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Five Star Food Service, at the recent NAMA OneShow  event in Las Vegas. Five Star Food Service is one of the largest and most well respected full-line vending, micro market, office coffee service and food services providers in the United States, and one of very few that have invested in a dynamic marketing program that is touted as among the best in the industry.

In the interview, Greg shared his thoughts about the vending machines of the future and how technology will affect the industry. He and his company believe that credit card readers and digital screens will become common across machines. They hold the potential to open up new opportunities to provide nutrition insight on products and push engaging promotions directly to consumers at the point of sale.

Greg indicated that he believes that through technology, we can better engage consumers, create a better overall experience and introduce loyalty programs that weren’t possible before. He also anticipates that more and more self service machines will move towards touch screen technology so that instead of looking through glass, consumers will actually view products in digital form accompanied by clear product and nutrition information – taking the guesswork out of unattended shopping for consumers… and since USA Technologies has the industry’s most advanced, cloud-based interactive media and content delivery platform designed for the self service marketplace, that’s music to our ears!
